Kaneohe Elderly Apartments

Kaneohe Elderly preserved 44 affordable senior housing units in the heart of Kaneohe. Located in a quiet neighborhood in close proximity to local shopping areas, services, and a library, the project provides affordable housing to seniors 62 and older as well as individuals with disabilities. Of the 44 units total, 22 are available to those who make 50% of the Average Median Income (AMI) and 21 units are available to those who make 60% of the AMI. In addition, all residents of River Pauahi receive additional rental support through an existing 20-year Section 8 contract for 43 units that expires in June of 2035.

The five-story building is elevator-serviced and connected to a single-story community building. The extensive renovation included new kitchen cabinets and counter tops, as well as new bathroom fixtures, bathtubs, and shower surrounds. New lighting and flooring was installed throughout the units and community areas. For exterior improvements of the building, a new roof, paint, lighting and landscaping was completed. Green features for Kaneohe Elderly include a 97 kW photovoltaic installation, low flow plumbing fixtures, and Energy Star appliances.
